We are pleased that you are playing at The Village Easter Festival 2025. It promises to be a great weekend.
This message is to share some information to make things easier for you.
Overview
The aim is, as far as possible, to have bands playing back-to-back at different venues. This means when you finish your slot another band will start immediately at another venue; sticking to the programme is important for you and everyone else to get the biggest audience.
This year we have two principal venues: The Lyndhurst and The Retreat. And then Piwnica for the After Party.
Load In
You have a one-hour slot to set up for your gig. The Lyndhurst and The Retreat will both have PA set up (no engineer). You need to bring your own microphones, stands, instruments, back-line etc.
Your Gig
All the gig slots are two-hour. Please start on time and finish on time.
Payment
The venue you are performing in will pay you after you finish. Each band/slot will be paid £150.
You are welcome to pass a jug around for cash donations. You need to arrange for this to happen. The sale of merchandise is perfectly okay providing the activity doesn’t dominate space.
Load Out
You have a one-hour slot to load out. You must be out in one hour as the venues need the space for others to set up or tables to be laid out.
Promotion and Publicity
Have a look at your details on the gig pages and let us know if you want copy, genres or photos changed/updated.
Please promote your gig to friends and followers…we don’t have your connections.
- The Village Easter Festival has been promoted on Facebook and Twitter.
- Our friends at What’s On Reading have been plugging the Festival and listing it on their site.
- We are listed in Sound Check magazine.
- Various other local media have picked up on the Festival.
The After Party
The After Party will be at Piwnica. If you are thinking of coming along it is best to book a table in advance as it will be busy.
Have a Great Gig
We hope you have a great gig. Let us have your feedback in the week following. It is likely to be busy during the Festival.
See www.tvef.co.uk for the programme across all venues.
